How to quickly clean suede boots. Once the baking soda cornstarch is removed you can proceed to use a suede brush to restore the suede nap. Wipe them down and remove any unseen layers of dust etc. These boots are marine corps combat boots that i had when i got out of the marines bac. Try to avoid any type of cleaner if you can and stick with water. Brush off as much dirt and debris including salt from sidewalks when the shoes are completely dry.
Just repeat the process. If the suede is extremely stained from salt then use a toothbrush and water. Begin by using light strokes to brush the surface of the shoe to remove loose particles and grit. You want to be sure to only brush in the direction of the nap to avoid ruining the suede. Rub the surface of your shoes with a clean bath towel.
After removing excess dirt clumps with your handy suede cleaning brush gently rub the shoes with a clean dry bath towel. Next use the eraser to continue cleaning up the tactical boots. Since suede is such a delicate material you want to be sure not to brush too aggressively to keep from destroying the material. The baking soda or cornstarch will absorb the oil from the suede. If you don t have a suede brush a clean nail brush or tooth brush will work just fine.
Proceed to cover the oil stain with baking soda or cornstarch and let your boots sit for up to a day. Spray suede cleaner scrub with a brush use an eraser to scrub until your suede tactical boots are completely clean. Remember to wipe in the direction of the grain and avoid any vigorous back and forth motions. Salt stains on suede.
