Use the firm bristled brush to dust away all the visible mold and mildew from the shoe.

If the shoe material is prone to watermarks or stains do not saturate it with the solution. Vinegar is effective against most types 80 of mold.
Go over these spots at least two times with the towel. Treat with leather conditioner. Use another clean damp cloth to rinse the area. For other shoes create a concoction that is one part water and one part alcohol. Brush off visible spores.
