Use a spare toothbrush to clean any collected debris or residue such as small nits and lice by thoroughly brushing them.
Place all brushes and hair accessories in a ziplock bag. Mattresses can easily harbor head lice. Place the brushes in the shampoo solution and agitate the water to make it sudsy. Take it out and soak it in hot water. Place the brushes on a clean towel and allow them to air dry.
